What to expect at your appointment

  • During your initial visit, our student interns will conduct a thorough intake and examine your case in detail with the supervisor on shift.
  • Once a diagnosis is determined, we will begin treatment which may include Acupuncture and other Chinese Medicine therapeutic modalities such as Chinese Therapeutic Massage (Tui-Na), Gua-Sha, Cupping, Infrared heat lamps, lifestyle and dietary recommendations, and or the application of E-Stim on the Acupuncture Needles.
  • Customized Chinese Herbal Formulations and/or patented herbal formulas may be recommended for best therapeutic results.  Herbal formulas are not included in the treatment fee, and although is recommended for your benefit, you are not obligated to purchase any additional supplemental items.
  • Depending on the areas of treatment, you may be required to dress down or change into a gown.  Please dress in comfortable loose clothing.
  • The initial treatment may last up to 2 hours, while follow up visits will last up to 1 hour.
  • The treatment plan and number of visits recommended differs for each condition, and will be discussed with you along with your prognosis. 
  • If you have not downloaded and filled out the New Patient Form ahead of time, then please plan on arriving 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to fill out the required paperwork.

What to do BEFORE your appointment

  • Eat a light meal. 
  • Do not consume alcohol or caffeine at least 6 hours before your treatment.
  • Rest well the night before your appointment.
  • Wear comfortable loose clothing.
  • Bring the most updated list of mediations you are currently taking.
  • Do not exercise vigorously.

 

What to do AFTER your appointment

  • Drink plenty of water. 
  • Rest and take it easy for the rest of the day.
  • Eat light meals.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol.
  • Do not exercise vigorously.
