Message from the President

President Dr. HanWelcome to the Florida College of Integrative Medicine (FCIM).

The staff and students take great pride in the FCIM environment. In addition to leadership in integrative medicine education and an advanced on-site clinic, there is great camaraderie among students — study groups, gatherings and building friendships —and a strong rapport between students and staff. Administrative staff and faculty are always approachable for discussions and questions.

FCIM is a dynamic and progressive school for integrative medicine. Our curriculum places emphasis on Oriental medicine technologies and clinical practices, along with Western biomedical sciences to support proper patient treatment and integration of these methodologies within the overall health care delivery system. Students receive supervised hands-on training with required time for observing private treatment and working on case studies.

The clinic is one of the largest teaching clinics and one of the most diverse in Orlando. Most of the Chinese and American doctors at the clinic offer at least 20 years of experience in the field of integrative medicine, many of which manage their own private practices and teach at FCIM. Supported by this exceptional leadership and training, our FCIM graduate students are more prepared to pass the board exam for a license recognized by the federal and state government.

We believe integrative medicine is the future of medicine as more is learned about the management of whole body healing. American consumers are demanding the availability of integration of medicine in the medical main stream, with 50% of the current health care market focused on alternative health care, and its usage is still on the rise, especially with acupuncture, herbology, Tui-Na (Chinese medical massage), and yoga. The marriage of four thousand years of Oriental medicine and cutting-edge technology is the greatest connection to modern Western health care, and our students are leading the way. We are expecting more dramatic developments in this field in the next decade.

I am confident that your educational experience at FCIM will be rewarding. With us, you will lay a foundation for a successful medical career. Join us in bringing whole body medical treatment practices to the forefront with integrative medicine!

Sincerely,

Larry L. Han, President
